My good friend and one of the best make-up artists around, Viki Pienaar, asked me if I would be interested in shooting the well-known band SAARKIE. I just love their music and it was a no-brainer. I contacted Shawn who is the mastermind behind The Photo Factory Venue East Rand. He recently finished a fantastic photo shoot area called The Edge. It is such a creative space and almost as if it was designed for SAARKIE. Shawn is well known in the photo community, assisting photographers all over Gauteng, making their photo dreams come true with his photo shoot venue. We exchanged some ideas with everybody involved and the date was set. I met Lila, Adele and Angelo on the day and what a fun crowd. Deon van Dyk the owner of Dú-Mànt was the hairstylist and he amazed me with how fast he was, and everything so perfect. Viki did her magic and the shoot was on. It almost felt as if I only had to press the shutter. Ideas were rolling and the models (Saarkie) posed like Ninjas!
